Robert "Bob" James Mitchell, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2023, at the age of 68, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Chicago. Born on May 10, 1955, in Chicago to James and Margaret Mitchell, Bob was a devoted family man who dedicated his life to those he loved.

Bob graduated from the University of Illinois in 1977 with a degree in engineering, and spent over 35 years working as a civil engineer for the City of Chicago. He married the love of his life, Patricia, in 1980, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. They were married for 43 years, and Bob often said that marrying Patricia was the best decision he ever made.

As a father, Bob was patient, kind, and always there for his children—Sarah (40), Michael (37), and Jennifer (34). He never missed a school play, a soccer game, or a chance to help with homework. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Emma, Noah, Olivia, Lucas, and Ava, who adored their "Papa Bob."

Bob loved fishing on Lake Michigan, working in his garden, and fixing things around the house. He was a member of the Chicago Engineers Association and volunteered at the local food bank for over 20 years. He had a great sense of humor, a warm smile, and a way of making everyone feel welcome.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Patricia; his children Sarah (David) Miller, Michael (Lisa) Mitchell, and Jennifer (Mark) Davis; his grandchildren; his sister Mary (John) Anderson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Thomas Mitchell.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held on November 25, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Chicago Community Church, 456 Main Street, Chicago, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chicago Food Bank in Bob's honor.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Chicago Hospice for their compassionate care during Bob's final days. Bob's love, his laughter, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

David Michael Johnson
August 22, 1970 – December 5, 2023
Phoenix, Arizona

David Michael Johnson, 53, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on December 5, 2023, after a brief illness. Born in Phoenix to William and Carol Johnson, David was a loving husband, father, and friend who will be deeply missed.

David worked as a teacher at Phoenix High School for 25 years, where he touched the lives of hundreds of students. He married his wife, Lisa, in 1995, and together they raised two children, Matthew and Emily. David loved hiking, reading, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Lisa; his children Matthew and Emily; his parents William and Carol; his sister Susan; and many friends and colleagues. A memorial service will be held on December 12, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Phoenix Community Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Phoenix High School's Scholarship Fund.

Michael "Mike" Thomas Anderson
June 15, 1962 – October 8, 2023

Michael "Mike" Thomas Anderson—our beloved husband, dad, friend, and the guy who could fix anything—left this world on October 8, 2023, at the age of 61, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Seattle to Thomas and Helen Anderson, Mike lived his life with passion, humor, and an unwavering love for his family.

Mike was a master carpenter who built not just beautiful homes, but a beautiful life with his wife of 35 years, Karen. They met in college, fell in love over a shared pizza, and never looked back. Together they raised three amazing children: Jessica (32), Ryan (29), and Amanda (26). Mike was the dad who coached Little League, taught his kids to ride bikes, and always had time for a hug or a joke.

Mike loved working with his hands, whether it was building a deck, fixing a car, or creating handmade gifts for his family. He was an avid Seahawks fan, a weekend fisherman, and the guy everyone called when something needed fixing. He had a quick wit, a generous heart, and a way of making everyone feel special.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Karen; his children Jessica (Tom) Wilson, Ryan (Sarah) Anderson, and Amanda Anderson; his grandchildren Lily and Jack; his brothers John and Steve; and countless friends who will miss his laughter and his friendship.

Instead of a traditional funeral, we invite you to join us for a Celebration of Mike's Life on October 15, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Seattle Community Park. Bring your favorite memory of Mike, wear your Seahawks gear (he'd love that!), and let's celebrate the amazing man who made our lives brighter.
